Still it was very small portions; I wasn’t that hungry all the time. Now that I have been taking prednisone, I’m starving24/7. I can eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, and then an hour after dinner, I am starving and looking forward to the next meal. Hence, I have to be mindful of that and not overindulge because that will lead to this third symptom. I have been eating extremely healthy, and I have been working out, and I noticed that even with all that, it takes a lot to lose one pound.
And with that, if I eat all right, you know, go to a restaurant or have a date night, whatever I eat I am gaining five pounds like a cheeseburger and fries five pounds instantly but two weeks worth of working out eating healthy I am barely losing around so I would be mindful on that because prednisone will increase your appetite. It will let you know you will gain weight on it.
Another main side effect for me is mood swings; I have noticed that I have very little patience for things ever since taking prednisone. I feel extremely bad for my boyfriend because we could be talking about literally anything. I will start to become teary-eyed, I’ll become emotional just even watching certain things on TV, I will just become a complete basket case.

Another side effect I have noticed is heartburn am a lover of spicy foods; I can’t eat spicy food every day, and it never bothered me until now. I get two to three times a week, and I have to take tums to help me, but it’s instant heartburn.
It is instant intense heartburn that I’ve never experienced until now. After talking to others that have had a kidney transplant, I’ve noticed that the main side effect is moon face hadn’t experienced moon face as bad as others have I did notice that when I look at pictures of when I was on dialysis compared to now that I do have a little.
Rounder like chipmunk cheeks sometimes in pictures it looks like more fuller I. Still, I’ve noticed that moon face is probably the most common symptom and prednisone. Other little symptoms that I’ve heard of are bruising and acne, stretch marks throughout your body, nausea, and headaches. Far as long-term side effects, osteoporosis, especially in the hips, is what I’ve heard of.
I’ve been hearing that people sometimes do need hip replacement surgery. In the most extreme cases of people, this is most people that I’ve been on high doses a high dosage of prednisone for a long period. I’ve also seen cataracts, and bone and muscle weakness, so that is also something on the negative side that you might have to look out for. Also, I’ve heard prednisone does increase blood sugar levels, so if you have diabetes, I would be mindful and maybe have a conversation with you.
